Summary: SOCCO is a B2B marketplace operating in the UAE. We collect only the information necessary to operate our platform, verify businesses, and connect buyers with sellers. We never sell your data to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
When you create a SOCCO account, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials managed through our identity provider (Clerk).
During onboarding and verification, we also collect business information including company name (English and Arabic), trade license documentation, industry and service classifications, business address, and company description.
We automatically collect usage data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interactions with features like RFQ submissions, search queries, and messaging.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to operate, maintain, and improve our B2B marketplace; verify business identities and trade licenses; connect buyers with relevant suppliers; send service-related notifications; generate business insights; and comply with applicable UAE laws and regulations.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Your business profile (company name, industry, services, description) is visible to other registered users to facilitate marketplace connections.
We share data with trusted third-party providers who assist in platform operations, including cloud hosting (AWS), authentication (Clerk), analytics (Vercel), and document processing. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or governmental request.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure authentication with multi-factor support, regular security assessments, role-based access controls, and secure document storage using AWS S3 with signed URLs.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Business verification documents are retained for the duration of your active account plus any period required by UAE commercial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
